Feed-in tariffs: payments are to be slashed from 12 December 2011 ... After that the new (reduced) FIT will become payable.
Due to this sudden urgency to complete installations in time for the December 11th deadline, panic and chaos has engulfed the UK Solar market:
Installers and providers are turning down more and more business every day
Where people are ready to install there is no availability of modules
If modules are available, the people who have them cannot access the labour to
carry out the installations.
Tools, mouting systems and even vans are in short supply
Multimillion pound deals which have taken months to put toegethor are falling to
pieces
Investors are dropping like flies and companies are going bankrupt
It's only 9 days since the announcement to recuce the Feed-in tarrif (FIT); With little over 4 weeks to go before the reduction is due to kick in, life in the UK Solar PV industry is only set to become more chaotic!...
